SUNRISE, FL — May 2, 2016 - Nurses at Interim HealthCare franchise locations across the country will be recognized as part of this year’s National Nurses Week, celebrated annually May 6th thru 12th. Interim, a leader in home care, hospice and health care staffing, has more than 300 independently owned franchise locations in 43 states that provide nursing, therapy and non-medical home care, hospice and healthcare staffing services. Interim's independent franchisees employ 40,000 healthcare workers and provide nurses, therapists, aides and other health care personnel to approximately 50,000 people annually.
“The nursing role is rapidly evolving as nurses are tasked with an even wider range of health care responsibilities,” said Kathleen Gilmartin, CEO and President of Interim HealthCare Inc. “Nurses have been an important part of Interim HealthCare since our founding in 1966 and I hope everyone will join us in recognizing these outstanding men and women in our community and thanking them for improving people’s lives every day.”
Annually, National Nurses Week begins on May 6, marked as Registered Nurse’s (RN) Recognition Day, and ends on May 12, the birthday of Florence Nightingale, founder of nursing as a modern profession. During this week, registered nurses at Interim HealthCare offices across the country will be recognized in a variety of ways. Franchisees are also being asked to nominate a national Nurse of the Year and the winner will be announced during the week.
