My caregiver worked with me until I was able to start doing things on my own again. She was my lifeline"

Very fortunate for everything you did for my mother. We are so blessed to have you in our journey. Appreciate your ability to talk us through everything and answer any questions. You are always available and always do what you say you’re going to do. Highly recommend.

Interim Health Care – Offers the reassurance - and peace of mind - our residents and their loved ones are looking for here at Creek Valley. The ability for our residents to “age in place” and still enjoy their independence is very important. And while some may think just because mom and dad are slowing down – they must need a higher level of care. This is not always the ca

I cannot say enough about this company! I will 100% use them again if needed! Their attention to detail, quick to respond to any questions and went out of their way to make us and my mom feel very comfortable!

Interim healthcare did an amazing job of talking care of my mother while allowing me to still be able to work! I can’t say enough kind things about this company!

I would recommend this company to all my family and friends. They took care of all my needs and made us feel we were their number one priority

I just want to applaud Brooke. She does a fantastic job with my mom. When she found out that my mom liked music she brought her keyboard and played for my mom! Also yesterday she texted me that my mom was communicating really well and remembering a lot from her past and asked me if there were pictures that she could pull out and talk to my mom about-this was so sweet

Summer Tips for Caregiver Professionals
Jul. 8
As the summer season heats up, it's essential for caregiver professionals to take extra precautions to ensure the well-being and comfort of their clients. The elderly, in particular, are more vulnerable to the effects of heat and dehydration.  Here are some comprehensive summer tips to help you and your clients stay safe and enjoy a comfortable season.

1. Stay Hydrated: Hydration is key?  Ensure that both you and your clients drink plenty of water throughout the day. Dehydration can be a serious concern, especially for the elderly. Keep a water bottle handy and offer drinks regularly. Consider incorporating hydrating foods like watermelon, cucumber, and strawberries into meals and snacks.
2. Dress Appropriately: Encourage your clients to wear loose-fitting, light-colored clothing to stay cool.  Don't forget comfortable, breathable footwear!
3. Sun Protection: Protect against harmful UV rays by applying sunscreen with at least SPF 30.  Make sure to cover all exposed skin, and reapply every two hours or after swimming or sweating. Wearing wide-brimmed hats and sunglasses can also help shield your skin and eyes from the sun. Whenever possible, seek shade during peak sun hours (10:00am-4:00pm)
4. Monitor Medications: Some medications can increase sensitivity to the sun and heat. Review your clients' medications and consult with their healthcare providers if necessary. Ensure medications are stored at appropriate temperatures to maintain their efficacy.
5. Plan Indoor Activities: On extremely hot days, keep your clients entertained with engaging indoor activities. Reading, puzzles, arts and crafts, and light exercises like chair yoga can be great alterntives to outdoor activities. This helps avoid the risk of heat-related illnesses while still keeping your clients active and stimulated.
6. Check the Weather: Stay informed about weather forecasts and be prepared for heatwaves. Use this information to plan your day and avoid scheduling outdoor activities during the hottest parts of the day. Having a flexible schedule can help you and your clients stay comfortable.
7. Use Fans and Air Conditioning: Ensure that living spaces are cool and well-ventilated. Use fans, air conditioning, or cooling devices to maintain a comfortable environment. If your clients don't have air conditioning, consider spending time in air-conditioned public places like malls, libraries, or community centers.
8. Watch for Signs of Heat-Related Illness: Be vigilant for symptoms of heat exhaustion or heat stroke, such as dizziness, nausea, headaches, and rapid heartbeat. If you or your client experience any of these symptoms, love to a cooler place, hydrate, and seek medical attention if neccessary. Early detection and response are crucial.
9. Encourage Healthy Snacks: Offer refreshing and hydrating snacks like fruits and vegetables with high water content. Options like watermelon, oranges, cucumbers, and grapes can help with hydration and provide essential nutrients. Avoid sugary drinks and snacks that can lead to dehydration.

Stay Cool, Stay Safe, and Enjoy the Summer!

Big shoutout to an incredible hero, Nurse Dawn! Today at one of a local school, Dawn displayed extraordinary bravery and saved a child's life. The child was choking on food, and Dawn acted swiftly by performing the Heimlich maneuver, successfully dislodging the obstruction and clearing the airway. Dawn's quick thinking didn't stop there; she also conducted a thorough check of the child's vital signs to ensure their well-being and promptly contacted the child's parents to inform them of the incident. She even called EMS for further evaluation. We're so grateful for Dawn's heroic actions and her dedication to keeping others safe. Let's give her a round of applause!
