In 2006, Dawn Baker and Paula Tharp, both law enforcement officers in Charleston, gave up their positions to pursue their dream of becoming entrepreneurs. Dawn became a registered nurse, following in her grandmother's footsteps. The two friends then took a leap of faith and joined the Interim HealthCare franchise family, providing personal care and support services in the Lowcountry. Together they embarked on a dream of growing and expanding the lines of service. To accomplish their goals, they needed to build a team with a dedication to service and a passion for healthcare.

In 2014, Robb Baker, Dawn's husband left a family business and joined the team as a part owner and head of sales. Working through regulations and accreditations, the three owners and friends obtained Medicare certification, allowing them to offer home healthcare services.

In 2019, knowing that success relied on putting the right people in the right places, Ashlee Pittman, DPT, PT was brought in as Administrator for home health. She quickly exceeded expectations and was soon promoted to the position of CEO.

Today, under Ashlee's leadership, the company has grown beyond Dawn, Robb, and Paula's dreams. It now offers a comprehensive range of services including Personal Care and Support Services (PCSS), home health, hospice, and staffing to the people of the Lowcountry. Dawn, Robb, and Paula take great pride in the expansion of services offered and the exceptional professionalism, compassion, and dedication of the leadership team, office and sales staff, and professional and paraprofessional employees that make up the Interim HealthCare family.

The Charleston County Senior Expo brings together local healthcare providers, community organizations, and service professionals dedicated to supporting the health, independence, and well-being of older adults in our community.

Visitors will enjoy:

  • Hourly prize giveaways

Our team will be on-site to meet with community members, answer questions about in-home care services, and share information about programs that help seniors remain safe, independent, and supported at home.

Free Dementia Respite Care in Charleston, SC - Interim Healthcare

Families caring for a loved one with dementia often face overwhelming stress, exhaustion, and financial strain. Interim HealthCare of Charleston is proud to offer a Dementia Respite Care Program that provides eligible patients up to $2,563 per year – 77 hours of free in-home care from trained dementia caregivers

Our Community Grief Support Groups are designed to support individuals and families navigating loss by offering a space for connection, reflection, and healing. These groups are open to both the families we serve and the greater community.

Through compassionate guidance and shared experience, participants can find comfort, understanding, and reassurance that they are not alone.
