Interim HealthCare of North Carolina Sponsors Charity Event Raising $37K for Scholarships

Ricky Byrd plays for the Interim HealthCare of North Carolina Team to raise $37K in ScholarshipsSANFORD – Central Carolina Community College students were the big winners as almost 200 golfers hit the links Sept. 18 for the 24th Annual CCCC Foundation Golf Classic at the Sanford Golf Course.

The golfers aced the event, raising more than $37,000 for the Foundation, a 501(c)(3) charitable organization affiliated with, but independent of, the college. It receives donations of money and equipment on behalf of CCCC and uses them to promote the educational mission of the college and assist students through scholarships and grants.

Forty-nine teams of four players each participated in Shotgun Rounds in either the morning or afternoon. Each round had three flights with first, second and third places awarded in each.

“The Golf Classic was simply fantastic,” said Emily Hare, CCCC director for the Foundation and Development. “The weather was perfect, the golf was exciting, and we couldn't have had a better day. A tremendous thank-you to our sponsors, we truly couldn't have done it without you. Every dollar raised goes back to our students, and on behalf of them and our faculty and staff, our sincerest gratitude to each of our sponsors!
