What is Respite care all about?

Home CareYou need a break.. without feeling guilty..

Even if you provide care for a family member you need much needed downtime at times in order to be effective. Its is prudent to have an alternative in case there is another emergency that requires your immediate attention or when you are unable to provide effective care.
Being a caregiver for a family member can be exhausting both physically and mentally. Often a family member will think of themselves as indispensable and the only one qualified to provide effective care. While this might indeed be the case it is often not sustainable. We will work with you to provide a much needed respite so that you can take a vacation mentally or physically and recharge your inner self.
Our caregivers will provide you with the “respite” you need so that you avoid being excessively stressed and come back from your break rejuvenated and with a sense of renewal.

So plan a short trip to San Francisco, or drive down the coast to Big Sur, or go on a longer vacation to Hawaii or Mexico- we at Interim Healthcare will step in and take care of your loved one.
Today, there are a wide range of health care services that can be provided in the home. This means that more people can remain in the comfort of their home while they are recovering from a hospital stay or if they just need some additional assistance and support to continue to live independently.

Our caregivers will provide the following services:

  • Personal Care (bathing, grooming, dressing)
  • Light housekeeping (laundry, dishes, fresh linens)
  • Meal Preparation
  • Shopping
  • Errands outside the house (prescription pick up, dry cleaning)
  • Transportation and companionship to/from appointments
  • Anything else that you think is important

All caregivers we employ are interviewed, screened and background checked as required by the State of California. Interim Healthcare ensures that our caregivers are well trained and supervised. We try to match each client to a caregiver based on their preferences and expectations.

I want to express my appreciation and gratitude for your help with my Mom. She has grown very close to a couple of your care givers. Everyone is prompt and considerate of her needs. It’s comforting to know I have people who I can count on.
