- Assisting with implementation of recommended treatment plans and provide management during a hospital stay or emergency situation
- Planning health care provider visits and attending to make sure key concerns are discussed
- Acting as a liaison with service provider, residential care staff, and health care facilities
- Advise on wellness strategies in accordance with health care provider recommendations to improve overall well-being and quality of life
Marya Kain, MS , Geriatric Care Manager for Medford, Oregon
In addition to her work in Geriatric Care Management, Marya has held a variety of positions in her 30 year career, including Assisted Living Facility and Residential Care Facility Administrator, Dementia Care Program Director, Dementia Care Specialist, Medical Social Worker, Alzheimer’s Care Unit Consultant, Activity Director, Certified Alzheimer’s Support Group Facilitator, and Dementia Educator. One of the highlights of Marya’s career was presenting at the International Eden Alternative 2008 International Conference.
Marya is a Master Trainer and Class Leader for Taking Care of You: Powerful Tools for the Family Care Giver, a Legacy Health System program for family care providers. She is also a practitioner for Star-C. Marya has a Masters Degree in Exercise Physiology,and is a Certified Behavior Consultant.
