At nearly 97 years old, Myrtle is proving that age doesn’t define what’s possible.
After a fall and broken bone in her back, Myrtle returned home determined to regain her strength and independence. With support from home health physical therapy, she worked hard to get back to the things she loves most, including cooking, shopping, caring for her home, and attending church.
Her story is a reminder that recovery is about more than healing. It’s about getting back to living.
Watch Myrtle’s story and see how home health services can support strength, confidence, and independence at home.

Hospice conversations are often filled with fear, uncertainty, and misconceptions. As a result, many families don’t receive hospice care until the final days of life.
In this video, Kristy and Kiersten talk openly about why these conversations are so difficult and introduce Finding Peace: A Meaningful Goodbye, a new hospice program designed to help families understand what hospice truly can be when it’s started earlier.
Finding Peace uses a phased approach to hospice care, focusing on:
-
Education and trust-building
-
Meaningful moments and togetherness
-
Preparation and confidence for the final days
By helping families lean into conversations instead of pulling away, Finding Peace allows patients and loved ones to experience hospice as it was intended — with support, dignity, and peace over time.
Interim HealthCare is proud to be a GUIDE-approved partner, working alongside Medicare to help families access enhanced dementia care support through the Guiding an Improved Dementia Experience (GUIDE) program.
GUIDE was created to make dementia care easier for families by providing:
- Personalized care coordination
- Education and resources for caregivers
- Up to 80 hours of respite care each year for eligible families

Falls are a leading concern for older adults, but many are preventable with the right education and support. Interim HealthCare’s Balance and Safety Education (BASE) Program is designed to help individuals stay safe and steady at home by combining simple exercises, walking routines, and in-home physical therapy and/or occupational therapy services tailored to each person’s needs.
In this short video, Kristy Kaliope sits down with Odette Ray, Director of Therapy Services, to explain what the BASE Program is, who can benefit, and how proactive fall prevention can support confidence and independence at home.
🎥 Episode 1: What Happens When You Call Hospice for the First Time?
Taking that first step can be the hardest part. In this short video, we walk you through what happens during the initial call to hospice and how our team is here to listen, answer your questions, and support your family from the very beginning.
🎥 Episode 2: What If Your Loved One Doesn’t Qualify for Hospice Yet?
Not everyone referred to hospice is immediately eligible. Kristy from Interim HealthCare explains what the evaluation process looks like and how we continue to offer guidance and support—even if it’s not time for hospice just yet.
🎥 Episode 3: What to Expect During the First Hospice Visit
In this video, our hospice nurse Kaitlyn and the daughter of one of our patients share what happens during the Start of Care visit. Learn how we guide families through this first step with compassion, clarity, and practical support—from preparation tips to what to expect emotionally.
Our care starts with compassion and continues with support—whenever you’re ready.
Home health care is not one-size-fits-all because every patient has different goals, challenges, and motivations.
For Ms. Lillian, occupational therapy was about working toward meaningful progress with support from Occupational Therapist Rikita along the way. From the beginning, Ms. Lillian’s warmth and determination stood out, making graduation day a celebration worth sharing.
Stories like Ms. Lillian’s remind us that progress looks different for everyone, and every milestone deserves to be celebrated.

Dispelling Hospice Myths
When you hear the term "hospice care," what comes to mind? For many, this special form of care is vastly misunderstood. The myths about what it is, what it isn't, and when it's needed are so widespread that the majority of patients who would benefit from the extended care it offers miss out on its value.
In our Hospice Myths Guide, we dispel common myths and break down the stigma surrounding hospice care, helping you decide if it could be the right fit for you or your loved one.
Many families don’t learn about hospice care until it’s too late to take full advantage of its benefits. In this video, three experienced hospice nurses share what they wish more people understood about hospice—when to consider it, what it truly offers, and how it can bring comfort and dignity to patients and their loved ones.
If you or someone you love is facing a serious illness, knowing these facts about hospice could make all the difference.
