Lisa Stearns, RN, Director of Clinical Partnerships

My name is Lisa Stearns, RN, BSN.  I am the Director of Clinical Partnerships for Interim Healthcare. I have been a Registered Nurse for 30 years.  I grew up in Wellington, KS and have many wonderful memories of growing up in a small town. I was fortunate to return to Wellington in 2020 and help start our Interim Healthcare office with so many of the wonderful people I grew up with.  I graduated from the University of Kansas School of Nursing in 1991 with honors. Following graduation, I moved to Wichita, KS and began working at Via Christi St Joseph Hospital on the Medical-Surgical Oncology floor.  In 1993, I married my childhood sweetheart and moved to Houston, TX where I would start my career at Hermann Children's Hospital in Neonatal Intensive Care.  I absolutely loved working with the babies and families.  I worked at Hermann Children's for 4 years. I returned to Wichita in 1997 and continued in Neonatology for the next 10 years. I became the mother of three beautiful girls. I developed a passion while working in the hospital to support and educate patients and families who were facing so many obstacles when discharging from a medical setting.  This led me to a career as a Nurse Case Manager at Susan B. Allen Memorial Hospital in 2007. While I loved working with families and physicians in the hospital setting over the next 5 years,  my career path changed in 2012 when my father became very ill and required Hospice services prior to his passing.  My family and I watched my father receive the kindest, most compassionate care I had ever witnessed.  I knew I wanted to help patients and families facing similar complex illness's, navigate this difficult road.  I started as a Nurse Liaison with Home Health and Hospice in 2012.   My passion is educating, supporting, identifying resources and navigating difficult healthcare decisions that families, facilities, and patients are faced with.  I have been with Interim Healthcare since 2014 doing what I love. I am blessed to be a part of this wonderful company, that has been serving the Wichita and surrounding communities for over 40 years.

I’m not very good with words, but I would like to thank all of your staff who helped us in our time of need. Each of them was kind and considerate to the whole family while they were here. They know what they are doing and it made it a lot easier on us. Ann especially, made us feel like she was one of us. There were so many of us, it was probably hard on them, but they did their jobs well and I would have them again if needed.
