The Right Match

As is the case with most patients with Multiple Sclerosis (MS), Mr. Stein’s physical condition has slowly deteriorated over time. Now in his late fifties, he finds it difficult to stand for extended periods of time, or perform certain household tasks. As his MS has advanced, Mr. Stein has been increasingly reliant on the kind of help traditionally associated with those of a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA).

Maintaining Independence

Most of us take our ability to do everyday things – from driving to the grocery store to picking up around the house – for granted. But what happens when you can no longer do those simple things? And when there’s no one around to help?

I contracted with Interim over 6 years ago for Home Health Aide assistance with my dad and eventually for my mom while they were living in an Assisted Living facility. The aides that worked with both of my parents became trusted members of our family. They treated my parents with care and kindness as if they were their own parents. The list of services eventually expanded for my mom including Nurse assistance with med management, physical therapy, transportation to medical appointments and being the eyes and ears for us when we weren’t readily available. They provided peace of mind for me, knowing they were a trusted caring resource for my elderly parents at a crucial time in their lives when maintaining as much independence and mobility was so important.
