As an emergency room social worker, I have encountered many multilayered problems. People come into our ER seeking a variety of services from much needed medical care to basic needs like food and shelter. Being on the front line of service delivery I have had the pleasure of sorting through many complex needs. One such example came in the form of a 61 year old woman newly arrived from Ohio with a fully immobilized left leg. This woman had done all that she felt she needed to do to arrange her transfer from a rehabilitation facility in Ohio to Idaho Elks rehab facility in Boise. However, as with all well-laid plans something went wrong and this woman found herself on the door step of the Elks having traveled 4 hours by plane to get to Boise only to be turned away since “the paperwork hadn’t gone through properly.”

Being a resourceful woman she took a cab to an emergency room near where she was going to be living.  I happened to be the ER Social Worker on that evening and was given the challenge of arranging resources for this person.  The ER is full of resourceful people and resourceful people know people, hence my alliance with Interim HealthCare was born.  In the middle of the night, with no one else willing to answer the phone, I was able to call Interim’s 24 hr number and talk to a live person, who herself proved to be very resourceful. Within an hour I was connected with Interim’s elite staff. They provided professionalism and enthusiasm to my seemingly hopeless request. Within several hours Interim staff were interviewing this wayward woman in the ER waiting room and providing her with the physical and emotional support she needed to get through a very challenging ordeal.  In the end she was connected with all the support she needed for that night and into the future. It is my pleasure to recommend Interim HealthCare to other medical providers for all of your basic and complex care needs. Given the chance Interim’s staff surely will impress you as much as they have impressed me.
