Even before the Affordable Care Act (more commonly referred to as Obamacare) was passed in 2010, hospitals were pushing to have certain patients moved out of their beds and into either nursing homes or home care to fully recover. Now, with this new law, the federal government is imposing penalties to hospitals that don’t focus on this aspect of cost savings, and improved care.
