November is National Home Care Month
Posted: 11/5/2014 12:00 AM by

Approximately 16 million Americans currently receive home-delivered health care for causes including acute illness, long-term health conditions, permanent disabilities or terminal illness. In 2014 alone, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services projected that annual expenditures for home health care were forecasted to be $104.2 billion. That’s why each November the National Association for Home Care and Hospice (NAHC) celebrates National Home Care and National Hospice Month to honor the nurses, health care administrators, clinicians, therapists, aides, homemakers, and companions who have dedicated their lives to caring for their patients and families.
What is home care?
As the nation’s oldest leading home care and medical staffing company we get that question a lot. In short, the answer is freedom. It is the right of an individual to stay at home, where they would probably prefer to be, even in the face of major health issues. It means a better quality a life and if a situation is terminal, it means the right of an individual to end things their terms with grace and dignity.
There are many reasons to support the good work of home care and hospice providers during November. Home health care is regarded as the most viable solution for providing long-term care to this country’s growing elderly population. Please join
Interim HealthCare
in applauding all of the home care aides around the country and their commitment to providing quality care for the patients and families they serve.
