Home Care For U.S. Veterans in Oklahoma City
Over 2 million Veterans and widows are missing out on a virtually unknown VA pension.
According to a study done by the Veterans Administration, approximately 2 million veterans and widows are missing out on over $22 billion in pension benefits from a pension called Aid and Attendance. The reason? “Veterans are completely unaware that the program exists, or believe they don’t qualify.” Widows are missing out the most—fewer than 1 in 7 eligible spouses in need are receiving benefits.
What does the Aid and Attendance Pension provide? Money that pays approximately 45 to 90 hours of in-home care per month to help Veterans and spouses with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming, meals, transportation, laundry, light house keeping, & medication reminders). These services can help our Veterans and spouses maintain their independence and dignity, and continue living safely at home rather than move into an assisted living facility or nursing home.
Thousands of Veterans and spouses in our community need help but don’t realize it’s available. Please help us spread the word.
