Donna “Lou” Byrd’s career spans over thirty years in the healthcare industry, with rapidly
advancing positions in diverse responsibilities of management and ultimately in senior
leadership capacities. Today, as the Managing Member, and the chief executive officer, of
the Byrd Group, LLC, her organization owns and operates multiple high-performing Interim
HealthCare franchises in North Carolina including, Interim Healthcare of the Triangle, LLC
in the Raleigh and Durham area, the Byrd HealthCare Group of North Carolina, LLC in
Asheville, and Interim HealthCare of the Eastern Carolinas, Inc. in Whiteville. In total, the
Byrd Group, LLC provides a broad range of healthcare services all across eastern North
Carolina serving its population through 11 strategically located operating offices.
Graduating from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, completing a Bachelor’s
Degree in Public Health, Lou Byrd’s passion for excellence and dedication to serve others
has driven her widely recognized success in the industry. As a designated Certified Senior
Advisor (CSA), her result-driven leadership style has attracted high quality healthcare
professionals to her team. Her organization operates with a published vision that is best
characterized as “dynamic and innovative.” Her organization is driven to provide

Corporate Conference in Boca Raton, Fl. being presented the prestigious Eagle Club
Award for high performance in sales, ranking her organization in the Top Ten Franchises in
America. This award followed a series of legendary sales performance recognitions.
Donna “Lou” Byrd is viewed by her peers, staff, corporate leaders, and friends as a true
American entrepreneur. Her relentless spirit and drive emerged early in her career. She
always lived for the day when she could apply her passion and vision to serving customers
and growing a thriving business. In fact, so representative of this personal goal was her
statement to John King, then owner of Interim HealthCare of the Triangle during her first
month of work. King asked her to articulate her long-term goal. Her response was quite
simple, “I want to ultimately own your company.” Dedicated to that goal, just one month
prior to her celebrating her 26th anniversary with the King organization, Byrd completed the
purchase of his company starting an aggressive series of future acquisitions. Remaining
focused, a year later Byrd acquired the Interim HealthCare franchise in Asheville. In 2012,
she closed on the purchased of Interim HealthCare of the Eastern North Carolinas, Inc. that
includes seven locations in the eastern part of the state.
Recognizing the importance of community leadership, Byrd joined and ultimately was
elected president of the Greater Raleigh Chapter of the National Association of Women’s
Business Owners. She has consistently remained committed to supporting women whose
shared goals of building their companies and contributing to the community. She is a
member of Rotary International. Her companies are actively involved in local chambers of
commerce and service organizations throughout the large geographical region they serve.
She believes that these local organizations are critical contributors to the local economy
and strives to have her organization make a difference through membership.
Growing her talent is another on-going priority. Byrd believes that developing her staff is
paramount to achieving an empowered senior management team. Training and coaching
are important elements of developing her people. Her team members are stakeholders of
the corporate vision and daily promote the culture of excellence and passion. They are
