Helping Patients Start Home Health Sooner


When patients in Columbus IN are ready to leave the hospital, timely home health services can make all the difference. For eligible Indiana Medicaid patients, Occurrence Code 42 may allow certain home health services to begin immediately after discharge without waiting for prior authorization, when program requirements are met.

What Is Occurrence Code 42?

Occurrence Code 42 is an Indiana Medicaid provision that helps eligible patients begin medically necessary home health services sooner after an acute hospital stay. This can reduce discharge delays, support continuity of care, and help patients recover safely at home.
