Aging Service Access Points
ASAPs are private, non-profit agencies with Governing Boards made up of at least 51% representation of person’s age 60 or older and appointed by the local Councils on Aging. These organizations are designed to help seniors and people with disabilities live in the setting of their choice by engaging community resources and supporting caregivers. Many services are offered from companionship, homemaking, personal care, home health, laundry, heavy chore and many more. They provide a wide range of social services – information, transportation, meals, advocacy, homecare, housing, and more – for one reason: to help those 60 and older. They are consumer centered organizations that provides and coordinates services to elders and other, enabling them to live independently at home or in a setting of their choice while remaining part of their community.
