No two home care situations are alike. So we've made sure we can meet your needs, on a part-time or full-time basis, in accordance with the recommendations of the attending physician and the wishes of the patient and family.

Interim HealthCare of Central & Tidewater Virginia has been Medicare certified since 1981. Home health care services are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

We provide a broad array of home care and supportive services through our trained professionals and paraprofessionals including:

Skilled Nursing - These are provided by Registered Nurses (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN). Services include health status assessments, teaching about diseases and treatment for clients and families, taking samples for lab tests, wound dressing changes, medication training and compliance, management of IVs and more.

Therapy - Many therapies can be provided at home to speed recovery from illness, injury or surgery. These include physical therapy to regain physical motion and strength, occupational therapy to regain day to day skills such as dressing and feeding oneself, and speech and language therapy to improve breathing or lung functioning.

Social Work - These professionals provide support for the social and emotional needs of the client and utilize community resources as needed.

Home Health Aide - Paraprofessionals such as certified home health aides provide assistance with bathing, grooming, dressing and meal preparation.

Companion Care - - Non-Medical supportive services with our companions can help people remain independent and in control. This assistance program consists of a BROAD range of activities to assist a client in the home.

Enterostomal Therapy - Specialized nursing care for clients with ostomies or complex wounds.

Home IV Therapy - Home infusion (IV) services combine pharmacy and nursing services and make it possible for people to receive prescribed medications through intravenous lines or injections while at home. Interim HealthCare offers a comprehensive range of infusion therapies from TPN, chemotherapy, antibiotics and pain management to many other specialized therapies. These therapies can be provided alone or together with a wide range of Interim HealthCare home nursing services.

Home Medical Equipment - We can also help arrange for medical equipment such as crutches, wheelchairs, beds, walkers and oxygen.
