PROVIDING ALL HOME CARE SERVICES

No two home care situations are alike. So we've made sure we can meet your needs, on a part-time or full-time basis, in accordance with the recommendations of the attending physician and the wishes of the patient and family. Interim HealthCare of Central & Tidewater Virginia has been Medicare certified since 1981. Home health care services are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. We provide a broad array of home care and supportive services through our trained professionals and paraprofessionals including:

SKILLED NURSING - These are provided by Registered Nurses (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN). Services include health status assessments, teaching about diseases and treatment for clients and families, taking samples for lab tests, wound dressing changes, medication training and compliance, management of IVs and more.

REHABILITATION WITH THERAPY - Many therapies can be provided at home to speed recovery from illness, injury or surgery. These include PHYSICAL THERAPY to regain physical motion and strength, OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY to regain day to day skills such as dressing and feeding oneself, and SPEECH-LANGUAGE PATHOLOGY to improve breathing or lung functioning.

SOCIAL WORK - - These professionals provide support for the social and emotional needs of the client and utilize community resources as needed.

PERSONAL CARE ASSISTANCE - Paraprofessionals such as certified home health aides and certified nursing assistants who can provide assistance with bathing, grooming, dressing and meal preparation and more.

COMPANION CARE - Companions (AKA homemakers) can provide non-medical supportive services to help people remain independent and in control.
