About Us
What Our Community is Saying
What’s Happening
October is National Physical Therapy Month, a time to recognize the powerful role physical therapists (PTs) and physical therapist assistants (PTAs) play in restoring mobility, independence, and quality of life. At Interim HealthCare, we are proud to shine a spotlight on the incredible work our PT team does every day—often right in the comfort of our patients’ homes.
Why Physical Therapy Matters
Whether recovering from surgery, managing a chronic condition, or rebuilding strength after an illness or injury, physical therapy is often the key to regaining independence. Our PTs design personalized care plans to help patients:
- Improve balance and prevent falls
- Regain strength and flexibility
- Manage pain without relying solely on medication
- Recover faster from injuries or surgeries
- Adapt to new mobility challenges with confidence
In the home setting, these benefits are amplified. Patients can work on real-life tasks in familiar surroundings, making therapy more relevant and results more lasting.
Home-Based Physical Therapy: A Personal, Powerful Approach
Interim HealthCare’s in-home physical therapy services allow patients to receive expert care without the stress of traveling to a clinic. Our PTs assess each individual’s environment and tailor exercises that directly support their daily routines. This means faster progress, safer movement at home, and a more personalized recovery journey.
Our physical therapist don’t just treat conditions—they empower people. From helping a senior navigate stairs again to guiding a stroke survivor through retraining movements, their work transforms lives.
Who Pays for Home Health Care? Understanding Your Insurance Options
One of the most common questions we hear is:
“Will my insurance cover home health services?”
The answer for many is: Yes—completely.
✅ Insurance Coverage for Home Health
If you have an in-network insurance policy, home health services are often covered at 100%. That means no co-pays, no deductibles, and no out-of-pocket costs—as long as the care is deemed medically necessary and ordered by a physician.
This includes:
- Skilled nursing
- Physical, occupational, and speech therapy
- Medical social work
- Home health aide support
- All necessary medical supplies related to your condition
Home health care is designed to help you recover, manage chronic conditions, or maintain independence, all from the comfort and safety of your home.
📍 In-Network with Our Charlottesville Office
We proudly accept the following insurance providers at our Charlottesville location:
- Medicare
- Humana
- Aetna Better Health
- UHC Medicare
- Align Senior Care
- Sentara/Optima Medicare
- VA Payor
- Tricare
If you’re covered by one of these, you may qualify for fully covered home health care services.
The Good life Series, held a seminar to speak on communication skills for dementia caregivers.
When a loved one is diagnosed with dementia, it takes an emotional toll. Communication is a crucial aspect in smoothing the bumps when a loved one is diagnosed.
“I think the conversation needs to happen more. More folks need to be more comfortable speaking about dementia Alzheimer’s, the disease, and kind of what you can do,” Alejandra Fletcher, Interim HealthCare Inc said. “Again, it’s not black and white, there is a whole plethora. You know, we spoke about it for an hour today and as you see it went over.”
Fletcher explains that keeping conversations simple, calm, and not rushed, are necessary points when speaking to loved ones affected by this disease.
