Independent Living Assessment

Frequently Asked Questions

When you are considering elder care services, there are many questions you find yourself asking. We've included some of the most common questions we receive every day.

Q: How do you decide what services are needed?

A: Deciding what each person needs is an important part of what we do. We perform a comprehensive assessment by a qualified professional so you can make informed decisions about the services you need.

Once the assessment is completed, we develop a customized plan that fits each client's individual situation and supports his or her capabilities. Ongoing assessments and reports are available periodically or after significant events such as hospitalization, emergency room visits or some other event or behavioral change.

Q: What Kind Of Services Do You Provide?

A: We provide services that are designed to maintain independence and safety in addition to enriching the lives of our clients. These may include light housekeeping, assistance with errands, meal preparation and other aspects of our HomeLife Enrichment Program. Due to licensing requirements that vary by state by state, not all offices provide the same services so we encourage you to contact the local office for more information.

Q: Why should I use Interim HomeStyle Services instead of hiring someone myself?

A: There are a number of reasons for Interim HomeStyle Services and it's important you are aware of them. Our Care Professionals are screened, background checked, bonded, insured and trained. We take care of professional liability insurance and worker's compensation. We also supervise our employees and make every effort to match the right Care Professional with each client.

Q: Do You Actually Provide Services In Senior Living Facilities?

A: Yes. We often work closely with both independent and assisted living facilities. Residents sometimes discover that they need additional assistance to enable them to remain independent. In these cases, Interim HomeStyle Services provides a Care Professional to make this possible. We also offer a Crossroads program that helps residents adjust to their new home and makes the transition much easier for both the individual and the facility.

Q: How Quickly Can Services Be Provided?

A: Generally services can be provided within a 48-hour period and often the same day.

Q: What happens if there is a compatibility problem between the client and the Care Professional?

A: We make every effort to match our clients with the appropriate Care Professional. However, there are instances in which the match is not working. In these instances we work with the client and his or her family to introduce a different Care Professional when possible.

Q: How much does it cost to have someone come to my house?

A: The cost will depend on a variety of factors including the number of hours and type of services the client needs. Once our office has done the initial assessment, they will be able to explain the charges.

Q: Can I Change The Schedule If I Have Appointments?

A: Changes are sometimes unavoidable and we want to accommodate you as much as possible. Changes are usually accomplished with as little as a weeks notice. We work hard to make the schedule convenient for the family.

Q: Do you check the background of the person you send into my home?

A: We understand how difficult it can be to bring someone into your life and your home. That's why we are so careful in making the right match between each Care Professional and client, and why we have made it our policy to extensively interview, background check, drug screen, bond and insure our Care Professionals.
