Karen Carnes, BSN, RN, MSN, began her nursing career with her graduation from
Emory University in Atlanta, GA with a Bachelor's degree in Nursing. After
graduation she worked as a pediatric nurse until she returned to school to
obtain her Master's degree in nursing from the University of California, San
Francisco. After serving for five years as the Head Nurse of the Pediatric
Oncology Program at Children's Hospital at Stanford University, Karen returned
to the East Coast where in 1984 she entered the most rewarding aspect of her
career, home health. Karen began her employment with Interim HealthCare Inc. in
1995 and has been involved in setting practice standards for Interim's home
care offices and monitoring the quality of care at each site.
