Following Physician Preferences

We work with the physician and staff to understand and document the physician's preferred post-surgical care path. Standing orders for each physician are prepared in advance, to be authorized at the time of referral. This is completed as part of program implementation so that we know, in advance, the physician preferences for all the issues that are most relevant to managing home therapy for these patients. This includes:

• Wound care directions
• Monitoring infection
• Blood thinner medications, including lab draws
• Weight bearing status directions
• Nutrition orders
• Vital sign monitoring parameters

The result: easy to use home care that follows physician preferences in care and communications.
