Interim "Apples" Reward Program
Interim offers an innovative program to HHA's and homemakers for their commitment to Interim HomeStyles. This system recognizes and rewards employees for dependability, availability during employment, work performance, and compliance with documentation requirements.

You earn reward gifts by being dependable, available, and committed to Interim HomeStyles. You accumulate points and then can purchase gifts with your points.
You are responsible for tracking your own points on a weekly basis. If you lose your form, the office will supply you with a new one. However, the office will not be responsible for supplying past work history.

At the end of each quarter, return the form within 7 days with your total points and identified gift choices based on points earned. Call your CSR with any questions. Thank you for your continued hard work and dedication.

A.P.P.L.E.S Program
We had good participation last quarter for the APPLES program, but still a far cry from full participation. For those of you who have not yet picked up your prizes, they are here waiting for you. FYI: We gave away eight (8) $75 gift cards and seven (7) $25 gift cards. You CAN make extra money every quarter just by filling out the form accurately and turning it in at the end of the quarter.

APPLES REWARDS TIPS
Some people have had questions regarding filling out the APPLES program points sheet. The first item listed for points is "In-office IHC/TSO Inservice". This refers to the monthly aide meetings you are required to attend.
At the end of the list is "No call offs/tardies for QTR" and "No formal complaints for QTR". Please note that these items are QUARTERLY not weekly. You must go the full quarter to claim the 100/40 points.
Please check your totals carefully. They are checked here also and it is disappointing to think you have more than you actually do or less and you haven't picked the right thing. If you want scrubs, please indicate size and color. We will do our best to get the things you have requested, but there may be times when a substitution will be made. We will try to call you first if that happens.
We had a very good response last quarter, but many of you did not participate. This is our chance to do something nice for you and we want to do it. Please let us know if you need another form. It is easiest to fill them out every week while everything is fresh in your mind. Let's try for 100% participation.

MONTHLY SAFETY TIP
The days are getting cold, and snow and ice can be here any time. Are you ready for winter? How about your car or pickup truck?
Things that will help you get through the winter:
1. Check to see if your antifreeze is at 30 to 40 degrees below zero, to protect your radiator and engine block.

2. Have your snow tires installed.

3. Check to make sure your engine block heater is working. Don't wait until the first cold morning to find out it doesn't work.

4. Change the oil to 10/30. This will help the engine turn over easer and circulate the oil faster on start up.

5. If you have a diesel, be sure to protect your fuel system.
a. Change the fuel filters often. (once a month)
b. Use blended fuel (60/40) during the cold months to keep the fuel from gelling. Use additives if you think you might have a problem
c. Water in the fuel causes loss of power, chance of freezing up, and will cause damage to the fuel system.

6. Remember to slow down when the roads get slippery. There are always a lot of people who end up in the ditch the first time the roads get slippery.

The Auto Shop Students at the Career Technology Centers can do some of this work for a small fee.
