NewsletterAbout our COMPUTERIZATIONBy Alvin Phillips, Information Services Director It is no secret that the emergence of computer systems radically changed the daily process of nearly every industry in the latter half of the 20th century. Despite the popular pro-technology undercurrent that emerged in the late 1990's, peripheral medical industries were still slow to adopt these modifications. Interim HealthCare rose above its competition to embrace practical, safe and sensible technology that enables us to provide quality care and improved communication for our clients. Our Client Service Representatives, the center of our staff, now have quick access to the data that drives their work with our clients and employees. Required staffing changes, payroll verification, and client contact now all happen much faster. This increased productivity not only allows for better staff utilization, but it also facilitates business growth in new areas. Thanks to our use of the SAM software by Riversoft, Inc. (www.riversoft.net), we are able to quickly add additional services and data to our system. Recently we have begun a pilot project with ACM (www.acm.com) to provide secure electronic communication and delivery of orders to our local physicians. This transfer will allow us to spend even more time on client care and communication instead of paperwork. The technology industry stocks may not be helping your retirement portfolio at the moment, but the impact of its technology is readily apparent in all areas of patient care. With HIPAA regulations now coming into use, patient care and data security are firmly and accurately embedded into an infrastructure that further allows us to place our focus on the most important party of health care, your health care. |
