At Interim HealthCare, no care plan is one-size-fits-all. But that’s especially true of our plans for patients with multiple sclerosis, which can present in many unique ways depending on each person’s nerve damage. With over 50 years of clinical excellence and experience, we understand the fluctuations of multiple sclerosis symptoms and can help your loved one navigate them to create a fulfilling, joyful life.

What is Multiple Sclerosis?

Multiple Sclerosis (MS) is a chronic autoimmune disease that affects the neurological system: the brain, nerves, and spinal cord. Although the cause of this non-contagious disease is not fully understood, scientists know that it is characterized by damage to the myelin sheath, which is the covering of the nerve cells in the body. Common symptoms include loss of balance, muscle spasms, numbness or another abnormal sensation in any area, problems moving arms or legs, and bowel and bladder issues, but — depending on which nerves are damaged — symptoms can occur in many parts of the body. The disorder is chronic and currently has no cure, but standard life expectancy should not be impacted.
