Top Honors Awarded to Interim HealthCare Franchisees at Annual National Care Conference

SUNRISE, FL — October 24, 2016 -  Interim HealthCare Inc., the nation's leading franchise network of owners providing homecare, senior care, hospice and health care staffing services announced the recipients of the National Quality Awards for 2016 at the annual Care Conference in Dallas, TX. The awards recognize Interim HealthCare franchisees and their clinicians for patient satisfaction as well as public measures of quality (related to Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services).

It's is an honor to recognize many of our franchise owners and clinical leaders who have achieved superior performance during today's ever-changing health care environment,” said Lawrence P. The awards take into account the quality ratings of all Medicare-certified home health care and hospice agencies in the United States as well as Interim HealthCare's standardized monitoring of home care patients satisfaction.

Star Ratings Category - We are pleased to be able to add a new award category this year.  The Quality of Patient Care Star Ratings.  This award recognizes Medicare certified agencies who have achieved the top tiers in the publicly reported Star Ratings, which were initiated for Home Health in July of 2015.  CMS assigns Star Ratings indicative of their quality of care, for several types of providers, including hospitals, skilled nursing facilities and now home health agencies.  For home health, the current national average is 3 stars.
 
  • For this first award, we would like to recognize agencies that have achieved a 4 or 4.5 Star Rating for each of the last four consecutive quarters, from July 2015 thru June 2016.

The awards were developed after the introduction of the CMS Quality Assessment and Performance Improvement measures in October 2008.  “It’s an honor to recognize these Hospice franchisees with these awards as our appreciation for their work,” said Tammy Fox, National Hospice Director at Interim HealthCare Inc., who presented the Hospice awards.

Visionary Leadership Award –
The Hospice Visionary Leadership award requires strong core values in the Hospice organization, a clear vision, empowering relationships within the community in which they serve and an innovative action plan.  This award was presented to a Hospice Administrator who has demonstrated vision for her
Hospice program and a passion for influencing her community regarding end-of-life care.  Here are some examples of how she educates and impacts her community:
  • She conducts interviews with local media such as radio and newspaper about hospice,
  • During National Social Work month, her hospice provided a luncheon for all Social Workers in the community,
  • She uses social media to educates the public about hospice,
  • She hosts community events such as chamber of commerce meetings and the blood mobile; and
  • She provides education at the local career center.
This Administrator is also currently expanding her hospice by moving into other markets and opening a multi-site location.

Hospice Award for Excellence in Leadership -  This award was presented to a Hospice Administrator who ensures that quality hospice services are being provided to patients and families.  She believes in caring, competent employees who live out the mission of hospice every day.  She has built a team who is involved at all levels and when interviewed are able to verbalize the intricacies of the organization with emphasis on QAPI.  Her hospice team is involved in determining PIP topics and working through the PIP process until outcomes are improved.
