State and federal laws lay out many of the rights the clients of Interim HealthCare are entitled to. We pride ourselves on our exceptional treatment of those in our care and go beyond the rights listed below.
You Can Choose Your Home Care Agency
Patients discharged from hospitals often need some help from a home care agency during their recovery. Any discharge plan that includes home care requires that the hospital give the patient a list of home care providers in the area. Any home care agency that operates where the patient lives and provides the needed services should be on the list. The hospital is not allowed to choose an agency for you or influence your decision.
Although you have the right to choose your home care provider, your insurance company may have only certain agencies they pay for. We work with Medicare, Medicaid and most private insurance companies so that usually won't be a problem for patients who want Interim HealthCare.
Our Pledge To You
The Interim HealthCare home health agencies appreciate the responsibility you give us when you invite us into your home. We hire only experienced caregivers who will respect our clients and their properties. In the rare event you have a problem with one of our caregivers, we have an internal grievance procedure and will resolve the situation quickly. If you are still unsatisfied, we will provide you contact information so you can file a complaint with the state.
Our goal is to teach you to be independent and to that end we consult with your doctors, your other family members, and of course you to create a treatment plan appropriate to your situation. If you need our home health agency for short-term recovery, we will work to make your recovery as short as possible. If you require long term care, we will help you become as independent as possible.
What To Expect From Our Visits
The caregivers in our home care agency will ask you a lot of questions on every visit so we can be sure you are doing well in our absence. We want to know you are eating and drinking well and taking any medications that have been subscribed. We perform a health check including blood pressure and temperature. We check your residence, looking for safety or security problems.
Our staff will train you and other family members in your home so you can take charge of your health. We want you and your support network to know what to do if something happens in our absence. We maintain communication with your doctors and everyone involved in your care, changing your treatment plan as your condition improves.
A home care agency isn't about making you dependent. It's about giving you the assistance and skills for self care and independence. Interim HealthCare is here to help you help yourself.
