Many people find second careers after they retire. Freed from the burden of having to work, retirees can choose jobs based on how much they will enjoy them. We have a number of caregivers at Interim HealthCare who, after retiring from other careers, help us provide home health care services.
What Do Home Health Care Professionals Do?
Our clients need our home health care services for many reasons. Like most home care companies, Interim offers services to elderly clients so they can continue to live independently. However we also have many younger clients who may need short term care while recovering from a medical procedure or long term care due to permanent disabilities.
Interim caregivers provide a range of home health care services. We help our clients maintain healthy bodies by assisting them with range of motion exercises, guiding them in making smart dietary choices, and helping with activities of daily life such as bathing. Our home care professionals offer companionship and recreational services designed to keep a client's mind sharp. Our other home health care services include housekeeping or appointment management.
Retirees Love To Provide Care
People who come out of retirement to join the Interim HealthCare team have different reasons for wanting to work in home health care services. Some do it for the practical reason that they need to supplement a fixed income with another paycheck. The extra money lets them enjoy luxuries such as travel or entertainment.
Other caregivers found retirement to be stifling. How many games of golf can one person play? Most people like to be active rather than sitting around watching television all day. Working in home health care services lets our retirees get out of their respective ruts and be part of the community.
All of our dedicated professionals share one motivation: we enjoy helping people.
Retirees Are Uniquely Suited To Be Caregivers
With no disrespect to our younger caregivers, retirees provide an exceptional level of home health care services particularly to other seniors. They are often experiencing the early stages of the same limitations our clients live under. It gives them a unique empathy and compassion to the position our clients find themselves in.
Retirees aren't bound as tightly by family commitments as caregivers who have children at home. They have the flexibility to enjoy the full spectrum of home health care services we offer. Many of our clients don't need long term care so a caregiver might have the opportunity to work with many different clients on varying schedules. It gives them the chance to help many different people.
The Interim family of home care companies is always on the lookout for caring and reliable home care professionals. Demand for our caregivers is growing steadily and the employment outlook is overwhelmingly positive. No experience is necessary, just a dedication to helping others.
