Linda has been a home health aide for my 98 year old mother for the past 6 ½ years. From the start, Linda’s professional attitude was apparent. Not only has she provided responsible care for my mother, but also provided me with relief from anxiety, knowing my mother was in good hands, both when I was at work and now that I am progressing my activities in retirement. Linda is gentle, kind, and compassionate and has developed a relationship with my mother who is in her final stages of Alzheimer’s. Although mom is not generally cognizant of her surroundings, Linda has managed to connect by her patient and relentless efforts to communicate. Now mom smiles and knows when Linda is around and manages a word or two. To Linda this is more than a job. She has been helpful in providing new ways to handle problems on a continuing basis. My mother requires total care and if physical changes or needs occur, Linda is always aware and makes them known. She is well organized in her care activities and can always be depended on. Linda provides care five days per week and even on most Saturdays or whenever the need arises. In the past, during hospital stay, mom was put on a nasal feeding tube since the staff was unsuccessful in feeding her. However, with Linda’s patience we have managed to eliminate the feeding tube. It now takes an entire day to feed my mother but with Linda’s perseverance that task is always accomplished.. I’ve thought of the idea of a nursing home through the years, but the experience I’ve had with Linda has caused me to change direction with those thoughts. I can’t imagine dealing with the daily problems without Linda being on the spot with her knowledge and dependability. She has indeed provided us with a service above and beyond what is required.
