Marta is amazing because she basically saved my life. Marta came to help me when I was physically ill and mentally depressed. When she arrived at my home, I opened the door to that wonderful smiling face.
I immediately felt at ease with her and she helps me with every aspect of my life. I was 20 pounds underweight but thanks to Marta, I am now an appropriate weight for my height. She is helping me organize my entire house….my entire life!! I cannot imagine a world without Marta. We get along so well…she is so kind, giving, responsible, and I would trust her with anything and everything. I anticipate that one way or another; Marta and I will remain close friends for the rest of our lives. To me….Marta is a true Hero.

Linda is my Hero because she is very concerned about my well-being and other people like me. She does a good job. She reminds me of my mama and daddy because her care is so loving. My son has a bad back. She tries to take the work load off of him. She’s good to the whole family. She’s a good person. She has never been out. She always shows up. She tries to figure out what we can do to get the help we need. We all just love her. There is no better representative of the care that Interim HealthCare provides than Linda.

We are seeing more clients asking for our help when their aging parents come to live with them. Families are looking for alternatives which are more personal and less expensive than independent living facilities and in-home health care can provide that.Caring For Our ParentsOne of the most difficult aspects of caring for our parents is the changing roles. Suddenly the children have become the caregivers and this puts a strain on everyone involved. We see parents who resent the necessity of depending on the children they raised. We see adult children who are happy to take their parents in, but still are frustrated with the extra responsibilities involved.Interim HealthCare provides in-home health care to these families which not only provides the obvious benefit of services from skilled and experienced caregivers, but also eases tensions in the household. Parents are more open to care received from home care professionals and find it a more dignified arrangement than depending on their ...

Before you go…• Write down your symptoms – describe it, when it started, when is it worse, how long does it last, what relieves it and does it keep you from doing any of your activities.• Write down all of your prescription medicines, non-prescription medicines, herbal supplements and vitamins that you take – if only sometimes OR put them all in bag and bring them along.• What equipment are you using at home and why?• Any important life changes that make you feel sad or stressed? What to Bring with You:• Glasses or hearing aid(s)• Your list of symptoms &ndash...

We have good news and bad news. The bad news is there is a serious threat to senior safety, one most people overlook. Someone dies every 35 minutes and it is the leading cause of fatalities among people over 80. The threat is the danger of falling. There is good news too. Falling danger is easily preventable and our home care professionals are trained to make our clients safe.Making your Home SafeOur homes make us feel safe and secure, but security can blind us to some of the hazards we face. Take a fresh look at your home and look for tripping dangers. Our home care staff can alert you to many hazards you might not see.You know that loose floorboard you've been meaning to get fixed? It's time to get it fixed. How about the area rug you've tripped over before? Maybe it's time to get rid of it or at least secure it.Bright lighting throughout the house is important. Don't hesitate to use 100-watt bulbs in appropriate fixtures. Let the young folks worry about energy conservation. Use night...

Overall, Trish has become the cornerstone of our efforts to keep Mom in her home as long as possible. Because we live so far away, the job of overseeing and implementing Mom’s care at home would have been nearly impossible with out a person of Trish’s competence, intelligence and commitment on the job. We have dealt with numerous caregivers from three agencies for our two sets of parents over some years. We are making these comments as informed and experienced eldercare consumers. Among the caregivers we have encountered, Trish is definitely a standout.
Professionalism- Trish brings to bear a full range of well-honed skills and competencies needed to perform as an excellent eldercare professional. Caring for Mom is not just a job to her. Trish’s dedication to Mom’s well being is very nearly as sincere and complete as ours is.
Patience and Compassion—Trish remains unperturbed, even when the client is short tempered or seems unreasonable. (Mom has some cog...

Linda has been a home health aide for my 98 year old mother for the past 6 ½ years. From the start, Linda’s professional attitude was apparent. Not only has she provided responsible care for my mother, but also provided me with relief from anxiety, knowing my mother was in good hands, both when I was at work and now that I am progressing my activities in retirement. Linda is gentle, kind, and compassionate and has developed a relationship with my mother who is in her final stages of Alzheimer’s. Although mom is not generally cognizant of her surroundings, Linda has managed to connect by her patient and relentless efforts to communicate. Now mom smiles and knows when Linda is around and manages a word or two. To Linda this is more than a job. She has been helpful in providing new ways to handle problems on a continuing basis. My mother requires total care and if physical changes or needs occur, Linda is always aware and makes them known. She is well organized in her c...

Finding a skilled and experienced home care professional for an ailing loved one is not an easy task. Some people try to find caregivers on their own but quickly find working with home health agencies like Interim HealthCare is the better choice. We Help You Find the Best MatchWe start the process by talking with the person to receive assistance and members of the family about what kind of service is needed. Based on that information our home health agencies provide a short list of people who are not only experienced and trained but who have the right personality. Choosing a caregiver is a more personal decision than hiring other professionals and it's important the caregiver and the patient mesh.Caregivers hired through online ads or through friends and relatives may not be all they seem. People exaggerate capabilities and work experience or hide criminal pasts. Investigating each applicant is an expensive process. Hiring through home care companies protects you. We conduct thorough cr...
